PROPOSAL / PROJECT COORDINATOR – CANBY
Title: Proposal / Project Coordinator
Location: Canby, OR
Wilson Construction Company has an immediate opening at our Headquarters in Canby, Oregon for a Proposal / Project Coordinator. This position will support our Proposal and Project Operations Department. They will aid in the organization and execution of large project proposals as well as supporting project lifecycle processes and procedures.
Ideal candidates will be team oriented and have the self-motivation and organization skills to balance a fluctuating workload. The Proposal / Project Coordinator will report directly to the Vice President of Operations.
Responsibilities:
- Review Request for Proposals (RFPs) and develop list of proposal submission requirements;
- Work with Lead Estimator to develop DOR (Division of Responsibility) with appropriate deadlines to meet the cycle of review;
- Schedule Proposal Team Meetings;
- Develop schedule for Proposal Review Meetings;
- Establish proposal review cycle due dates for all appropriate peer reviews, Technical Writer reviews, and management reviews;
- Ensure documents are consistent with Company standards;
- Guide production of the final draft of the proposal;
- Work with Marketing Manager/Technical Writer to establish proposal template to include standard introductory paragraph and supporting documentation;
- Schedule Knowledge Transfer Meeting to include estimator/project manager, all proposal team members/subject matter experts and field leadership that will be on the project;
- Record and track Lessons Learned for future reference.
- Ensure proper project closeout;
- Keep databases of Lessons Learned, Customer Satisfaction Surveys, and any other trackable information for future use;
- Work with Bids Department to create and keep up to date a "sortable" Past Project Experience List;
- Ensure all Key Personnel resumes are up to date; and
- Other tasks as assigned.
Requirements:
- Five years of progressively responsible office experience;
- Previous experience in Proposal / Bid development of project management at any level is a benefit;
- Must have a strong attention to detail achieving thoroughness and accuracy when completing a task;
- Intermediate MS Office experience. Experience in Word and Excel programs are expected;
- The ability and desire to learn and master other computer programs;
- Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills;
- The ability to multi-task, work effectively in a fast paced environment and meet deadlines as necessary;

UTILITY CONSTRUCTION PROJECT SCHEDULER - CANBY

This is an office position requiring a professional with the majority of work hours to be spent in an office setting. Candidate will be required to take ownership of the current project schedules and the development and utilization of future schedules. Applicant must possess the ability to work independently or with a team of current schedulers to ensure schedule development and maintenance of the highest quality. This position will create, manage, and utilize project schedule for proposals, forecasting, and for the accurate submission of schedule updates and look-aheads to estimators, the project team, and project owner.

FIELD SAFETY COORDINATOR – SPOKANE
Title: Field Safety Coordinator
Location: Spokane, WA
Wilson Construction Co. has immediate openings for a Field Safety Coordinator based in the Eastern Washington area with a positive, can-do attitude. The Field Safety Coordinator for Wilson is responsible for ensuring onsite compliance with all applicable Federal, State and Local safety regulations. The Field Safety Coordinator reports to the Corporate Safety Director and coordinates their work activities with the Construction Superintendent and Project Manager, and is responsible for performing the following essential duties and responsibilities; other duties may be assigned as needed:
Field Safety Coordinator Responsibilities:
- Conduct safety orientations for new employees and former employees returning to the Company after an extended absence;
- Coordinate new hire drug testing;
- Administer the fall protection program and fit testing where applicable;
- Administer employee-training;
- Assist with records of employee safety training programs (rosters);
- Conduct at least one (1) complete safety inspection (audit) for each job site visited and file written reports. Monitor as many job sites as possible on a weekly basis to ensure that safe practices are followed and hazardous conditions are noted and eliminated;
- Review Wilson truck/equipment safety inspection reports;
- Investigate all incidents and near miss reports and file reports as required;
- Establish and review procedures for the treatment of injuries;
- Maintain a current SDS file available at any time. Ensure that appropriate safety training is provided whenever new materials, equipment or processes are introduced to the workplace;
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of the injury and illness prevention program and all applicable Federal, State and local laws and regulations pertaining to safety;
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of the hazards of every operation and how these hazards can be controlled;
- Review each task including a thorough survey of site conditions, and analysis the potential hazards to be encountered, and a determination of the kind and extent of safeguards necessary to accomplish the work in a safe manner and/or train employees as appropriate;
- Make available all necessary personal protective equipment, job safety materials, first aid supplies, and emergency information;
- Implement immediate corrective action whenever noncompliance with the safety program or Federal, State or local laws or regulations is found;
- Meet with Superintendents /General Foremen and foremen on a periodic basis to review accidents, near-misses, disciplinary actions taken and safety suggestions offered from the field;
- Evaluate the safety performance of field employees and provide guidance and training where needed to improve performance and safety;
- Meet with Wilson management on periodic basis to discuss accidents and accident trends, employee safety performance, safety suggestions from the field, ways and means of improving the effectiveness of the safety program, and the agenda for scheduled training programs;
- Set a good example by following good safety practices in all activities—particularly with respect to personal protective equipment and clothing; and
- Hold tailboard safety meeting on a daily basis. During these meetings discuss job site accidents and near-misses, and give each employee the opportunity to offer safety suggestions.
This position will require travel and may include temporary relocation to project sites for the duration of that project
Field Safety Coordinator Requirements:
- 3-5 years of relevant experience;
- Degree in Occupational Safety and Health or related field or, a Safety Certification from a nationally recognized institution;
- Working knowledge of state and federal OSHA laws and regulations;
- Current First Aid and CPR certification;
- Must be able to work outside and travel;
- Ability to communicate effectively with various levels of staff and personality types;
- Desire and ability to learn the technical aspects of our industry;
