Projects Examples

Fowler Ridge Windfarm, IN

This 345kV Transmission Line project is associated with the Fowler Ridge Windfarm  located outside Fowler, Indiana.  Wilson Construction crews started construction in July, 2008 with structure installations and completed the project in September, 2008.  The transmission line consists of approximately 23 miles of steel poles on concrete foundations and bundled 954kcmil and 795kcmil ACSR conductor on braced post framing.

Big Sky Windfarm, IL

Wilson Construction Crews recently constructed the 138kV Double Circuit Transmission Line associated with the Big Sky Windfarm located outside Dixon, IL.  The project started in March, 2008 and was completed at the end of August, 2008.  The 18 mile transmission line consists of drilled pier concrete foundations, steel poles, horizontal line post framing, and 954kcmil ACSR conductor.

Flat Ridge Windfarm, KN

This collection substation consists of a 138kV line terminal, 138/34.5kV step-up transformer, four 34.5kV collector circuit bays, and two 34.5kV capacitor banks.   The new substation will support The Flat Ridge Windfarm which is located outside Nashville, Kansas.  Wilson Construction crews began construction in early July, 2008 and will be complete in late Seotember, 2008.    

Colorado Green Wind Farm Project, CO

Installation of a 34.5kV electrical collection system and construction of a 230/34.5kV substation along with 44 miles of 230kV single-circuit transmission line with OPGW – Constructed on an extremely aggressive schedule and completed within 75 days!

Crescent Ridge Project, IL

Construction of the utility interconnect to ComEd (completed in 2 ½ months) and the wind farm 115kV substation which was completed a month later.

Combine Hills 69-kV Transmission Line Project, OR

Construction of 11 miles of 69kV transmission line to support a 41MW facility.

Cowboy Wind Farm Project (Washita), OK 

Construction of the wind farm, 138kV substation and a 4-mile, double circuit, 34.5kV overhead line with1.3 miles of overhead double static wire.
