Bonneville - Hood River 115kV Transmission Line Rebuild Project, OR

This 24-mile-long transmission line was constructed along one of the most scenic and historically significant locations in the nation: the Columbia River Gorge. Originally constructed in 1939, the line travels along the Columbia River, traversing steep terrain, dense forests, the Pacific Crest Trail, and the historic Oregon Trail.

For this project, Wilson’s environmental team managed environmental compliance and mitigation to protect wetlands and waterways, fish-bearing streams, bald eagle and peregrine falcon nesting, protected species breeding areas, sensitive native plant species, and historical and cultural resource sites. This project involved close coordination with the U.S. Forest Service and Oregon State Parks along with Bonneville Power Administration’s permitting team and Wilson’s own crews. Wilson also prepared and implemented the Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan and conducted all restoration efforts post-construction. The project was a great success for both Wilson and Bonneville Power Administration.
